Long-arm quilting (and photos above) by Phyllis Dewey at Quilter's Pantry--Quilter's Pantry. She does lovely work!
This quilt was pieced in Beijing, long-arm quilted by Phyllis Dewey of Quilter's Pantry in Tennessee, and bound in New Hampshire. My daughter, Sam, is holding it in this picture. The quilt is now en route to Tokyo, where it will be given to someone in need of comfort. And yes, those with sharp eyes will see that I used a bit of lavender binding when I ran out of pink fabric.
This is a lovely quilt and it has traveled the world. More than most people.
Fondly, Etty

Someone is going to receive a lot of warmth from this quilt - someone who needs that right now.

Beautiful. I love the lavender bit of binding . . . and isn't that very Japanese, to include a symbolic imperfection?

Thanks so much, Etty and Stacey.
Wonderful observation, Lee--you lawyers are so good at making astute connections! : )
Thanks for your comment, Debbie. The call for quilts came from a Tokyo quilt magazine, and they specifically requested "Bright and cheery colors and patterns." I thought the spring colors and the theme of gardening symbolized hope and new beginning
