Wool crewel yarn on unbleached muslin.
These are fun, kokopelli-inspired free-style embroidery, along with one finished faux-crazy-quilt influenced pillow that I made for a niece's mile-stone birthday. I started in at random, thinking I'd make flowers for card inserts. As sometimes happens, imagination or boredom (with making flowers) takes over, resulting in the unexpected.
Pillow, minus the pillow form. For some reason, I seem to have neglected a final picture--too bad, because it looked much better stuffed!
For interesting information about the history of the kokopelli symbol, this is a good site: www.indigenouspeople.net/kokopelli.htm
Much more interesting than flowers! You have such a sense of playfulness in your creations. Plus there's some meaningful history behind this one.

Thanks, Carol. Play is key--especially when your embroidered "flower" begins to grow legs and arms!
